Makeup and Fashion Styling
Careers in makeup and styling are closely linked as stylists often are required to fix makeup on a photoshoot or work with the makeup artist to achieve the look they require. Makeup artists are also often asked to style and sources clothing and accessories for the photoshoot as well. As such, stylists with makeup skills are able to gain more work and vise versa.
The Australian Institute of Makeup & Styling (AIMS) offers courses specialising in the various areas of styling and makeup taught by professional stylists and makeup artists. Courses range from short courses (intensive or part time), to full time and part time courses.
For students who are interested in fashion design, fashion merchandising / business, it is possible to complete AIMS's Advanced Makeup & Styling Course alongside a Diploma of Fashion & Textiles Merchandising.
It is also possible for students interested in beauty therapy to complete the Advanced Makeup & Styling Course alongside the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
AIMS students get the opportunity to work closely with our fashion design students, and assist with fashion parade organisation, photoshoots and makeup, which will give students the opportunity to build their styling portfolio or makeup portfolio.
